Article on Artificial Intelligence
We are looking for a volunteer to draft an article on the recent papers released by the EU’s Legal Affairs Committee regarding artificial intelligence. The article can use this as a basis and expand on the topic of artificial intelligence in the law.
Some ideas of what to include:
What is Artificial Intelligence?
Examples of where AI is currently used
What are the draft papers about?
Human oversight
Civil liability
Intellectual property
How does Artificial intelligence link with the law? Perhaps link to the 3 papers.
How can you monitor AI?
Can AI commit a crime currently? Who would be responsible?
AI bases its learning from something, how would this relate to IP laws?
Who ‘created’ something that AI produces?
e.g. check out this website - http://botpoet.com/ which asks the user to guess whether poetry is created by AI or real people.
The article should be 500 - 750 words and should be an accessible explanation of the issue, in simple terms for to engage 16-18-year-olds without a legal background.
NOTE: We have found that it is essential for articles of this kind to be written with limited legal terms, and to be clearly defined when they are used, to make them as accessible as possible. We would ask, therefore, to limit complex legal jargon to ensure that the article is easily digestible by the targeted audience.
Remember - The law can be scary, at Leducate we hope to make it as accessible as possible!
