Leducate Explains: World Political Systems
We’re constantly surrounded by news stories of events happening around the world, and in a time of COVID, comparing responses from one country to another. However, the political systems around the world are as varied as the people that run them and it is often hard to understand the differences. In this article, we are aiming to provide an overview of the political systems in the world. Some ideas of what to include:
What do we mean by political systems?
Makes laws, governs what people can and can’t do.
Explain how the following political systems work and what makes them different from each other. Provide examples of each. You may also explain the perceived benefits and disadvantages of each from an academic perspective.
Democracy
Monarchy
Communism
Dictatorship
What is the UK?
NOTE - This article does stray very closely to the political. It should be noted that this series is purely informative, and should not take any particular opinion, good or bad.
The article should be 750 - 1000 words and should be an accessible explanation of the issue, in simple terms for to engage 16-18-year-olds without a legal background.
NOTE: We have found that it is essential for articles of this kind to be written with limited legal terms, and to be clearly defined when they are used, to make them as accessible as possible. We would ask, therefore, to limit complex legal jargon to ensure that the article is easily digestible by the targeted audience. If you do need to use any legal terms, please include a glossary at the end of your article with definitions of the words.
If you find pictures you’d like to use you may include these in your article, however, please include the source/link to the photo so we can ensure we are able to use it and reference it.
Remember - The law can be scary, at Leducate we hope to make it as accessible as possible!
