Abi is a Law student in her penultimate year at the University of Nottingham. After her final year of study, she hopes to secure a training contract and complete her SQE to become a qualified solicitor.
This academic year she has been elected the publicity officer for the Nottingham Commercial Awareness Society. The aim of the society is to help aspiring lawyers gain further insight into the commercial arena and give them exposure to law firms by hosting workshops, competitions and presentations, as well as developing resources to support the members of the society.

Law governs most aspects of life. It tells us what is right and what is wrong, as well as what we are free to do and what we are prohibited from doing. For that reason, it is important that our society is educated on the laws that they interact with and are affected by every day. It is necessary for young adults, in particular, to begin to understand the law as they may begin to contribute more to the society they live in and gain more legal rights as adults. Leducate arms young people with an understanding of the law and it is legal knowledge that ultimately enables human rights and justice to be upheld.”
